If there are about 7 billion people on the planet and the average lifespan is about 70 years then that would have to be extremely close to
100,000,000 people a year
273,973 people a day
11,416 people an hour
190 people a second
And yet if they were not famous, insanely rich, died of a abnormality, or was the first to do something amazing no one-but the people who lost them-would care too much.
This alone shows that the human race is selfish creatures. If they didn't lose something they do not care.

For the fact is Death is everywhere, nowhere, and somewhere. We just don't see that until it's too late...

It's not that good for one reason, one you need to keep it simple like your first two lines they have to much more detail then it needs.

I thought the same thing.however, as a culture, we idolize people like astronauts as explorers and adventures, you know, "Final Frontier" and all that. It's not that their deaths matter more than other people's.it's that when other people die, their family and friends lose someone. When the shuttle exploded, all of America lost seven people.

Good poem, though. I enjoyed thinking about the theme.

To see another sky of red,

Where I may lie once I am dead,

Is just another part of life

Removing us from earthly strife.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist. I know it's like nails screeching down a chalkboard. Which cost us more, the deaths or the spaceshuttle...? Anyways, thought I might wanna add that that was the first Israeli astronaught, so it was kind of a big deal for them... still, I must agree with you.

That was great. I agree since I don't know why the hell people make such a fuss about just 7 people dieing when there where really 5000 that died that day -_-;

your right. i understand the pain people feel for the crew, but look at the death that is taking place right now. all the people being stabbed and shot and raped to death. death surrounds us and we live with it.

You know what? I agree. Though I am extremely upset at what happened with the Columbia, what about everyone else who died? The 40 or so people who died in a train wreck? Children in war zones gunned down like animals? Great job!
