I love the way the words seemed to relish the geography of the land, really play around with the lines and outlines of the 'scapes. I especially liked:
'[Rivers rush down] to
[taste] the salt of the ocean...'
- The image of sweet freshwater pouring into salted sea to taste it and become contaminated struck me;
'... holding for one precious moment
The unnamed freedom
That the land will not deny us.'
- Something about that sounds so timeless. Most people know that feeling of standing atop high ground after a long climb and savouring the way the world seems a whole lot bigger and looser up there.
I love poems people write about their home. The long-observed details really shine through, and ownership/continued experience of place gives much more power in the words.

Beautiful imagery. The place where you live seems like a place I'd revel living in. Lots of beautiful surroundings. Anyway, great job, keep writing :)

You never cease to surprise me with your breathtaking descriptions. You should make a book out of your poems and call it "Heaven's Grasp of Language" or something, seriously. Because that's what your poems are.

Wonderful, just as beautiful as I remember it. Glad you reposted this one. This poem holds special meaning to me. It was the poem you wrote for our first challenge to each other :). Keep up the excellent work. Peace.

Very descriptive and lovely images. It's good to have you back, my dear. I've missed your poetry. Even if this one is old, it's just as wonderful as everything else you've written. Keep up the good work.~CT
