for My Beliefs!

You've got about the same veiws on god that I do, not quite Jesus though. Face it Christians, the bible was written in a time when people liked to exagerate, then re-written twice in times when people liked exagerating even more. I think that Jesus was alive, but was just a really charismatic guy, so you couldn't help but feel better. you know the kind, when they just seem to radiate an aura of happieness. As for God, why would he get so bored that he'd say one day "I'm going to spend a week createing a planet, then fill it with a bunch of people that while alone are intelligant, the more you put together, the stupider they get! Then I'm going to watch over them for the rest of eternity! Yeah, that'll be fun!" Really, the omnipitant have better things to do then THAT.

Other then that, I think that you could have written a bit more. Unless you're a lot younger then I'd guess (13 or so)you have more beleifs then that.

What stops you from believing in God? I get what u said about not believing in a higher being, but you haven't given any reason about why, except for that you find it hard. I like the evolution theory. I think its wierd, but i like it. I don't believe it because you haven't given any proof except for their skulls look like certain animals, but I like it. So pls feel free 2 email me 2 debate more coz i luv debating. its

actually, it has been demonstrated that lightning combining with water can produce amino acids. amino acids are speculated to be the beginnings of life...so most scientists believe that amino acids combined to form early life forms, so in a way you're kind of right.

in order for a species to evolve, it has to be isolated from the rest of its species and exposed to a different climate. the climate in europe is very different from the climate in asia, and seeing as the two groups of people only met rarely for thousands of years or more, its logical to think that they each adapted to their own climate. Actually, i saw a documentary where a gene found in some of the earliest fossils of man was traced to one man who carried it in eastern asia.

i also find it hard to believe that a being such as god exists. and actually, few people before darwin were fundamentalist, in that they actually believed that jesus was born to a virgin mother. when darwin came around, fundamentalist groups started springing up all over the world in an uproar against the theory of evolution. before that time, most people did not take the bible completely literally.

ok, hope i helped!

just one question, if man evolved from apes, then where did the apes come from eh?
3/27/2003 c1 2Crazy-elf
...anywhoo, i have no comment really 'bout any of this. What ever, you've got ur opinion and i've got mine...

Yah, ok my wording was a bit off, eh? Well, I knew that I'd get reviews like this so I'm prepared, to take what I get. Thanks for reviewing.

I think I agree with your general ideas: I believe in the Big Bang, evolution etc, and I'm an atheist who believes Jesus existed, but as a mortal man.

But the example you use as your evidence for evolution is, frankly, terrible, because it makes it look as though you're arguing that man evolved from apes, which isn't what evolutionary theory says at all. Instead, it says that men and apes share a common ancestor millions of years back. Also, humans *are* primates!

Sorry to whinge about that, but an essay on this subject is always going to be attacked from some quarters, so you need to be 100% solid in backing up the facts.

Hey Talisa!

Awesome work. :) You're probably right though, you should figure out the whole Big Bang thing. And a suggestion on how to get rid of the racism: instead of using any racial references, use geographical references instead, like African, East-Asian, European, etc.

I agree with you on the whole Jesus issue. . . I also don't see how anyone could think that Mary was a virgin-do they know what time she lived in? I mean, yeah, she might have WISHED she was a virgin, but there are some things you can't control. I bet that a lot of men raped women back then a lot of the time, no matter how sick and disgusting it may sound. . .
