I think this is a great beginning - collaborations are wonderful things when they work out. If you want constructive criticism, here's my thought: I would have started the story outside the cave, because then the character would move from the normal and comfortable realm of existence into the weird and mysterious, instead of just starting out in the latter. Know what I mean? Just a thought...

So far it sounds good, but there isn't enough to really judge the story. I can see great things coming out of this however, unknown jewels are always fun to add mystery and havoc into a story. ^-^ Keep up the good work!
