This maybe explains why I've never been able to understand the fascination the Americans have with baseball.
I'm not into male butts!
Female ones, sure, they can look pretty nice and I have no problem with checking them out as they go past me in a bar or whatever. But male ones, no thanks!
Anyway, I'm on holiday in Prague right now, just wanted to thank you for reading some of my work and I'll read the rest of yours when I get home. I hope its all as good as this!
And I know what you mean about short attention spans making it impossible to write seriously. I just this week wrote chapter 2 of one of my stories, chapter 1 having been written about 4 years ago!

Hm... a lot of guys watch baseball though. But your argument has some weight to it. After all, why would anyone want to watch baseball otherwise. It's not exciting. The pace is terribly slow. It's one of the only sports in which the participants can be either drunk (David Wells) or in terrible physical shape and still play. (Hmm... I wanted to come up with another guy but David Wells works well here too.

"Fanny" is a word that's always going to startle us Brits, seeing as over here it's a) reserved for women, and b) er... round the other side. On the other paw, you use, "arse", which doesn't seem very common in the US. *shrugs*
Anyway, moving away from the interesting yet limited field of Transatlantic obscenity, this was actually rather good fun to read. Despite the fact that I quite like baseball for none of the reasons given, but instead because it's the closest your poor benighted nation gets to cricket. *grins*
Pointless aside: I see baseball gets shown on Channel 5 over there. Same in the UK. EErie coincidence, eh?

I have to admit I don't watch baseball much, but this sounds like quite a logical theory. I might have to tune in this season...
I like your writing style, at the same time semi-formal and mischievous. The conversation between the scouts added a nice touch. The only complaint I have is minor punctuation errors...but they didn't really detract that much.
