Interesting. I like the message. However, the closer it got to the end, it seemed to be more desperate analogies. If you are looking for length, which you do not need, narrow the focus instead of covering the really big topics first. I see this in humanity today and even myself. However, I think you would get a larger reaction and empathy if you related these to yourself and not to the world.

This is amazing, and really gets to a major issue in the world. Shoot, it gets to a LOT of issues in the world today. And you talk about them with such a flowing of words, that you almost forget your reading about these issues. I adore this poem, it shall be my new motto! Well... maybe... if you'll let it be that is.
