for Truth is a disease

6/16/2004 c1 dark sworn
Is there realy a god, if there is, are we worshiping the right god? What if it is all a hoax, a false belief created hundreds of years ago for the sake of controling the peasant population? What if religion is only the unconcious need of humans to believe that there is something more powerful out there, that can fix their mistakes. People don't want to know the truth of that, or at least those who believe, believe so that they dont have to question that and wont have to know the truth.
Truth is a disease, you are right, it may not always be bad, but it is still a disease.

YES! I prefer ignorance to truth also; which is why I also prefer to lie. How many women have asked me "Do these pants make my ass look big?" Are men actually supposed to tell the truth? Hell no! Do women really want to know the truth? My guess is no, they are simply fishing for a compliment. Anyway, I saw a couple minor errors, but not enough to slow the flow of your rant. Great job, keep writing.

when i was young, i decided that my goal in life is the persuit of truth. now that i question the existence of objective reality, my confused mind is a goldmine out of which I can retrieve good writing.

Wonderful, as always.
And ironically enough, very true. o.o;
Something I've considered many times and beautifly put.

wow- that really makes you think. The words were so powerful, and I can tell that they sprout from your own mind, and I can assume that you wrote this as the thoughts appeared in your head. This is just amazing- an absolute work of art. Keep it up, I'd like to see more pieces like this.

That would have been powerful... if it made any sense.

wow... okay thats powerful, and overloaded my brain.
You're right in many ways, but to tell the little old man there is no hope, is a lie, there is always hope, wheterh or not it has foundation, people find hope, thats how we as a race of thinkers live.
To tell a child that they are getting closer to death, I don't think a child would perceive this as an adult would, to a child death seems distant, to become a teenager seems centuries away in itself, for a child they ahve eternity stretched before them whether or not they ahve been told anythink to contradict this.
Lies, really, we live in a world of lies though, your own self lies to you, what I have just been typing, I don't even know if that is the 'truth', what the goverment say, well I would be more shocked and appauled if it WAS the truth...
We live in a web of lies and most do benefit us, help us live a padded life, were we feel safer, more secure. Lies have there ups and downs.
...meh I've gone all philosophical...

you make a good point, but i'm sorry, i'm not convinced. i make it a point to be honest whenever practical, which is pretty often. it's really, really annoying how you bold some of the words. i think it's important that everyone's able to get as much information about everything as possible 'cause that's how we make informed decisions. would you really rather not be told if you were going to die?
