YaY! this was great! I like how you avoided road rage (destructive) with something CONstructive! wOOt and all that! Don't get me started on the idiotic anti-flag burning ideas, or those that have those 911/flag stickers on their cars. Or ... blah blah blah. I've got poems posted, maybe I'll write more! I love the imagry here, so true and observant of you! KEWL!

oh...love the simplicity of meaning and thought here, and the color-words you used to show the fading of the flag. Maybe not a fading of patriotism, but a growing-old kind of feeling? Addicted to that description of the sun as 'purest critical light.'
I'm not sure whether you have a political message here, because I didn't really find one...I just saw beautiful observations. At the end I felt a sort of longing to analyze the image and give it some sort of metaphorical meaning, but maybe it doesn't need that...
And are you aware that your last stanza is a haiku?
