This was so cute! I like how you started off with "the mother" and then told us her name after describing the home. I especially liked the last line: "Cheerios has not gone near the dryer since." It made me laugh =D.

I think perhaps you should fix some of your sintax and sentences. The story is slightly confusing, like you are trying to do too much at once in how you tell the story.

You have a nice story, though rather short and choppy. How on Earth can a cat survive a tumble in a dryer? As many cats as I have at my house, it's a wonder something like this hasn't happened to me. Anyway, cute little story here. It's not too bad for a high-schooler.
