hey - um, note from author - i got the idea for this story from my own experience - I'm Donnie, up until after she had looked up his name in the school journal. But my friends aren't like hers were, they are supportive, and kind. Anyway, I have had a few disabled friends - one girl with cerebal palsy, who was mentally like everyone else, but her muscles were not co-ordinated, she was in a wheel-chair and her speech was hard to understand. I heard people making fun of her, saw them look at her as inferior/wierd. They were scared of her, thought she was dumb, so they asked me questions about her and talked to me not her. She was shy like me, which didn't help. I saw her struggling to push her wheelchair up a hill and no-one voluntaring to help. I wrote this story for kids like her, physically or/and mentally disabled.
