Yeah it is extermly annoying. At school everyone thinks this and that. Especailly about Mormons. It is so annoying! I feel like I am always saying that fact is wrong! And stuff. Some things they say about us Mormons are funny though!

Sadly people will judge one another by everything, I used to get so upset by all of it. Everything you do, wear, say, everything has a catergory. If you dress in black clothing your assumed to be gothic, ever think the person just likes black, maybe they find it slimming? I stopped fighting and getting so angry when I realized that you can't stop stereotypes. That's the way people are, everyone fits in to a catergory. By the way, I also wanted to say how unfair it is how people think that LDS...or mormons practice polygamy. Beacase it isn't true. Yes back in the olden days they did, but there was a good reason for it. There were too many women and not enough men, so the men would marry more than one women, don't forget at this time women weren't allowed to work! Anyway, to sum up, Stereotyping is bad, no one like to be judged based on catergory groups.

It has bothered me for quite some time how people can "know" so much about you just by your beliefs. What makes it even worse is that they don't even have to look to your belief system to find out about it- other sources work just fine. I'll grant you this much, at least your religion is semi-known.

religion... yes, one of the three topics people should never talk about... though i forgot what the other two were... there is a saying about not judging the religion by the attitude of the believer, and i don't know, but isn't religion an aspect of beliefs that certain people agree on in order for them to truly be able to join? not that i come to such fast conclustions about someone. it's just something to think about. interesting point of view. =0)

i totally agree with this. i loved it! it was well written. my religon believes in different stuff from everyone else. like, i don't celebrate birthdays or holidays. i really don't care what others believe, or if they don't believe in what i do.

Very intereting thoughts on this topic. Good way to express them. I agree with a lot that you have to say, but the media is also to blame so you may want to add that into this,but other then that I find this very good and well written and everything in my opinion is well stated!

The problem with people judging based on religion is that people only really know what they've heard. I am not to knowledgable on the mormon faith, or many other faiths, but the opinions of that faith are formed through information I'm picked up by things like tv, radio, or friends. There's your basic problem eh? The portion of a religion(take islam for example) could be a radical sect, a break away cult, or some other dissenting minority, but if that's all anyone hears about then that one tiny group is what defines that faith for them. It's hard to tell people just to stop judging, because human nature is all about apprasing the person in front of you for their use in your survival. You do it without noticing, or liking it. Our sources of imformation are biased, therefore our opinions are biased. Open mind and curiosity are the best cures.
