I read horror and thriller stories all of the time with little or no effect on me as far as being nervous later or having nightmares, but this one hit close to home. A creepy guy has been calling me from a blocked number for the last five months. He calls like three times a day once every three or four days at totally random times. I have no idea who it is and my cell phone company wont trace it even with a police report. Crazyness...
Anyway, about your story, great job here. The characters were pretty 2D until you mentioned the x-files theme song, and then they had some life. I know it's hard to give them much character in such a short story.
I didn't see any grammar mistakes or spelling problems (but then I was reading for pleasure and I didn't look all that close)...
Great short story here. Very creepy. I have to get my cell number changed!

Probably the most horrific thing about this is the sheer randomness of it. It also makes me wonder what kind of conversation they would have had if she had answered the phone. Nicely written, effective in its simplicity as the sparse details help convey the stark tone. I hate those bloody cell phones, don't you? Love to see more out of you. Keep writing. And thanks for reviewing my works.

This was absolutely Amazing! However, I do have some well-meaning criticism, if you care to listen? You should think about building the story a bit more, perhaps giving more messages and failed calls before the end. Or maybe the lack of that is what made this such a great story. Either way, I enjoyed it, despite it's short length.
