Great start. When are you going to update? I want to find out what happens next! *starts acting 'totally out of character'; whines and carries on* Hehe Well anyway I like the introing description of the Winter Ball, and the idea of Rhett being completely ignorant of Elaine's royalty until he abruptly found out from what seems to me to be the worst person possible. The poor guy.

AWH! Elaine sounds a bit like the princess from that movie "Barbie and the Pauper", I mean she had all these decisions to make and choose either true love with her tutor whom she knew every since she was a kid OR to protect and save the country from starvation...
Elain is so sweet! and cute! and feisty! - but in a princessy [delicate] sort of way. You could make her more intellectual...she sounds a bit whiney though...but then the purpose of these stories is to see the characters develop and become righteous and dignified and oh so beautifuL heroes/heroines!
Rhett is a cool name, reminds me of "gOne With the wind" and THAT Rhett was so adorable and nice..and YOUR Rhett sounds so noble and protective! *sigh*...when will my prince come?
I loved the part where she apologised about not telling him about her being the princess!
I quote: "Yes, well. I kind of lost the crown. That's why I'm wearing flowers instead," she pointed at her head anxiously. THAT IS SO COOL!
And she is also so vulnerable! She wants Rhett to be her friend! HOW MOVING AND TOUCHING AND EVERYTHING ASSOCIATED WITH MUSHYNESS!
