Good show! Who doesn't like a battle of wills? : ) Oh, and I loved that extra from Bridge Jones! That was hilarious, how Zelwiger kept going on back to him being all wet in the shirt and Firth gets all flustered! Awesome! Gotta love shy, mumbling Firth.
Anyway, enjoy your vacation and continue soon! ~penink

I really like this story. I like the whole battle of wills between Cassandra and Winterborne - the subtly and the whole, getting what you want theme that runs through this story. i also really like Eliza. great job so far.
you're a really awesome writer; i'd really appreciate it if you reviewed one of my stories. i'd love to hear your opinion!

I've just started to read the story, but even from the first chapter, I have to say this reminds me a of a mixture of Jo Beverely books. First of all, Hazard is a book she wrote; another similarity is that at the beggining of one of her books, An Arranged Marriage, a woman also lives with her brother and he ends up doing something similar with his sister. Just thought I'd mention it. I do like this story though and can't wait to read the rest of it, but as I'm in the midst of finals I promised myself I can't read all of it just yet.

As usual, an awesome chapter. My only criticism would be to make your chapters longer! :P
Can't wait for chapter 19...you're doing a great job.

So both Eliza and Winborne's motto is Quod Desidero Obtineo? I think that's so cool. Anyway, I'm glad Eliza likes Cassandra. Winborne is HOOKED! Hurrah!

Hey,Aragorn IS MINE! lol yeah Pride and Prejudice is like one of my favourite books (up there with HP, LotR and the Sisterhood of the travelling pants. Mr Darcy is to die for! lol maybe i should change my pen name to darcyismine! lol anyways Persuasion is my other fav. JA but i ahvtn actually read Emma because apparently its in the list for the HSC and id have to read it in year 12 anyway so... but my friends have said it was really good so i think i'll go and read it. ok now for one ginormous criticism... you need to make the chapters longer! please...? i mean not much really happens in each of your chapters if you know what i mean...? like i think maybe this chapter could have been linked up with the last one so us poor readers dont have to be kept in suspense too long! lol srsly man your story is so good that i dont think i'll read the next update because i'll probably die waiting for the next one! lol anyways UPDATE soon! please

I appreciate the suggestions. I'll hit the bookstores as soon as I can^_^
Eliza's reaction did not disappoint. I'd love to see Lady Kingston and Lord Boldstock back!
Can't wait for the next chapter!

The die is cast, meaning: the die has been tossed and its outcome cannot be altered. The die is cast, meaning: the metal has been molded, and its shape cannot be altered. The dye is cast, meaning: the tint has been poured, and the water cannot be clear again.I did a WW search for the whole phrase, and got no matches. It's hard to imagine this hasn't come up, yet.The only thing I can find here at home is in book by Charles E. Funk, Heavens to Betsy! & Other Curious Sayings:
quote:"The die is cast!" According to Plutarch's Life of Julius Caesar, this was the remark made by Caesar when, in 49 B.C., he decided to march toward Rome to protect himself against the machinations of Pompey. His words, of course, were in Latin - "Alea est jacta!"
-I had always seen this phrase as the "dye has been cast", therefore I was intrigued with your usage of "die is cast". I guess both phrases can be used.
