Got bias?

-And by the way, I'm a moderate. And I sway more for the Reform party, if you'd like to know.

Instead of pissing and moaning about liberals, why don't you run for president and see how better you can fucking run this country, dipshit.

By far the dumbest piece of anti-liberal crap i hae ever read. not well written, and not very convincing arguements.

I don't like Michael Moore. So I agree with you there. I, however, do not like Bush either. No, I do not think he is "Evil" either...like so many people like to say. I just do not agree with many of his decisions, but.. I think that the position of President is a difficult one so... then again, who are we to criticize? I'm not really up to agrguing politics though, as it is not one of my favorite topics. But..I will say that I enjoyed this essay and hte sarcastic tone of it. I didn't agree with everything in it, but...it was amusing. Well done.

I responded to your review in to my piece on Christianity under my reviews to that piece...just to let you know. Write on...

""Georgia (Can't think of any smart-ass remark here, sorry)"

Then why include it? Clearly, they have some valuable support if you can't mock their dying people."

That was actually really funny.

I'll admitt it, I'm much more of a poet then a political essay writer.

"echo the exact thoughts and words of Anne Coulter"

Strange, considering I've never read Anne Coulter.

"You're a coward using the internet as a shield."

I don't see how posting this on the internet is different from saying it out loud.

"And i can proudly say that i still have my "Kerry/Edwards" sticker plastered right where it always was."

Ooh, that hurt. I love the smell of pompous asses in the morning.

First... congratulations on having nothing more meaningful to say than to echo the exact thoughts and words of Anne Coulter! As for the rest of the... (oh... wait for it...)... (cleverly timed, i swear...) SLANDER (hahah! see, how i took her words and threw them back at you? i am ever so clever!), well, it mostly makes fun of itself. You've presented your own distorted views of the enemy you've created without having the courage to write out your own (equally flawed, as all opinions are) opinions. You're a coward using the internet as a shield. i suggest only that you attempt to educate yourself. And i can proudly say that i still have my "Kerry/Edwards" sticker plastered right where it always was.

""I almost hung myself when I found out Bush won and you jumped for joy." - logical-unreason in a review"

Really no shit, I got so drunk and did contemplate killing myself. Dark days behind and perhaps darker ahead.

This piece has, in fact, made my day, although surely not in the way that you intended. Despite the unoriginality and blatant stereotyping which conservatives claim to despise that is ever-present in your writing, this was actually quite funny, and pathetically easy to parody. Let me, instead, however, begin with what I agree with, and get even that badly expressed part out of the way. Although an independent personally, I agree with the "liberals" on many viewpoints: however, the points you raised on minorities are some that I agree with. This, however, is nothing new: the point of good writing is to be insightful and speak an opinion that few others have thought to voice, or to offer a new standpoint on something. None of your ideas in this essay are anything that has not been said a thousand times before. Do not be insulted: there are artistic whores in every field, writing is just one of them. To clarify: a whore is a writer who writes simply for acclaim, or is repeating something else they have heard, so that they can get "reviews" or to have people admire them. Your work is unoriginal, and, deny it all you want, but you've heard all this from someone else and are not really thinking for yourself, much as you think you are (notice I did not say that liberals are thinking for themselves either: a lot of them are sheep in their own way. There are conservatives I respect far more than many liberals, but neo-conservatives and the pathetic sheep that follow them I hold in the highest contempt). To repeat another point that was raised earlier, your so-called 'facts' on war were untrue and badly phrased, as well as detracting from the overall point of your essay instead of adding to it. "If you dress similarly to your friends, you are a fool: a conformist. If you want to stop conforming, you must dress in all black, and listen to the same music we do." This, also, is unoriginal, and detracts from your point as well. So you're saying what? You liberals are WRONG, because you're saying the SAME WRONG THINGS as us conservatives! By attacking liberal thought in this point, you're bringing out the weak points in conservatism as well. Think about it, although I'm sure I'm not getting through to you. I've found it's pointless to argue with a "believer" (not religiously, mind you, simply someone who is staunchly confident in their ideas), so I have not. Not argued against your ideas? you may ask incredulously. Perhaps you are beating down the door to debate with me: I have not actually challenged the issues you raise here, such as stem-cell research, religions, and corporations, although I feel strongly about them as well; I've simply pointed out to you what is wrong with your writing, and how you can hopefully improve it someday. Although it pains me to see you express those ideas I think are wrong, I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion; what pains me MORE is to see those very ideas expressed BADLY. As an independent leaning-left, I think your juvenile 'sarcasm' and 'insightful humor' need a LOT of work to truly leave anyone reading this piece with any respect for you. Should you wish to reach me for a REAL debate, you may contact me on my AIM sn, spiritofjazz.

Cheers,Andrea.

I like the way you prove your point by avoiding warrants and through the clever use of polemics.

I've already reviewed this, I think. Just wanted to say this:

Aw, you mentioned me? I'm touched. I'll mention you too sometime...when I think of something funny to say.

OMPS: just in case i hadn't said this about this essay:

"forty-seven year old feminists whose beaten up Japanese Cars (American companies and armpit shaving be damned)"

that's nice. Considering I'm younger than that, don't drive and...god I won't gross you out, but don't narrow so much about his fans

Republicans ARE evil people though!

Kidding.

Bye.

I usually read stuff like this with the intention of getting really pissed off, but this was actually (heaven forbid!)somewhat funny, despite its unorginal and easily parodied format.

"They may include such cool phrases as “Eracism”, “with liberty and Justice FOR ALL”, and faded “VOTE BUSH OUT IN 04!” stickers that they attempted to peel off on Election Day so that the guys at work wouldn’t remind them that their incessant ramblings over the past four years were in vain."

I find the line above particularly amusing because I ended up doing pretty much the same thing on November 3rd. Anyway, good job.

CoS, you crack me up. Let's begin, shall we?

"You know, one thing is to love your country, and another is to be blinded by that love and not be able to see its faults."

Believe me, I see the faults with America; such as liberals, big brother forcing people to remove Christmas displays, the government telling you that you can't say things that might hurt people's feelings, etc.

But I still love my country more than any other. When you love a person, you see past their faults, correct? Maybe you think I don't "see the faults" because I disagree with you.

"Saddam did kill people, but the hundreds of pounds in bombs you guys dropped"

Stop the tape. Even if the US dropped bombs, that doesnt make Saddam's actions any better. Especially since the US's "crimes" arent nearly as bad as those perpetrated by Hussein and all his terrorist buddies. Why do you guys run to their defense?

"The world will be a better place when people like you stop with your bullshit"

So the world would be better if people stopped disagreeing with you. And you support us "stopping our bullshit". But you don't seem to think the world is better off with Saddam out of power. Strange.

"Open your eyes, and yes, your heart."

I love how you guys try to sound so loving and philosophical.

"You are only seeing what you want to see."

I see plenty, kid. I just see it differently than you do. We both see the government telling people what words to use and not to use. You see it as a good thing, as tolerance. I see it as big-brother trying to control you.

"There is a good reason why the rest of the world wept when Bush was re-elected,"

They're a bunch of whiners who feel the need to stuff their noses into our elections.

"they see what you cant."

And what's that?
11/30/2004 c2 CoS
You know, one thing is to love your country, and another is to be blinded by that love and not be able to see its faults.

Oh, and by the way, yes, Saddam did kill people, but the hundreds of pounds in bombs you guys dropped yearly since the end of the gulf war, in times you were supposedly in peace with Iraq...Low, man.

The world will be a better place when people like you stop with your bullshit. Open your eyes, and yes, your heart. You are only seeing what you want to see. There is a good reason why the rest of the world wept when Bush was re-elected, they see what you cant. History in the end, will prove us right.
