really great poem. i like the structure and scheme of it. i also liked that you didn't use whole sentences, but rather descriptive words to show us what you were saying. great job.

Beauty, abstract simplistic-ness Ooh words fail. The shape is gorgeous too.

wow...just...wow...I just read this in a few seconds...but had to reread it again...wow...WOW. Like seriously...wow, I have no other way to express it. As I read the bottom word "myth" I felt as if I was like..put into some magic spell. I can't really catch the meaning of this poem, but...it's magical...in some..uncomrephensible and vague way! BRAVO!

that was beautiful! such a delicate, secret, mysterious image you created. i'm adding this to my favorite list!

The virgin blue is one of my favorite books too! The lady and the unicorn was great as well. Tracy Chevalier is awesome, huh?

Deep, and well-detailed, I loved it, keep up the good work.

Much love,Juliet.

I rather liked that. It's short and sweet but the words you use are rather catching. I like it a lot. Also, thank you for reviewing Farmer's Daughter! I appreciate it and congrats on the poem, it's terrific!

Great example of a diamante poem, I never could get those right...I was forwarded here by your sister, and I think I like both your work equally. Good job, off I go to read more.

cool format. I love the way it lists all the characteristics of a mermaid and such, and then ends on the word myth.

I've seen this form of poetry on several occasions: once, when in the middle of my 7th grade English class, another time in 4th grade, and finally when I was about 7 years old. There's nothing wrong with the form, honestly, but there's so much more one can do with the language that it takes something truly spectacular to be able to win attention with the restraints of the "Diamante" as you call it. To be honest, I don't know where you got your opinions of the scale-tailed ladies of the liquid empire, but they don't seem very Disney to me, or familiar in any other form. Your adjectives and various other words also tend to lean a bit more on the vague side than the mind-jarringly vivid side, hinting at a possible polishing by way of a thesaurus if nothing else. I also can't tell if you've got some deep meaning within this poem you want to tell the world, and it's likely there isn't, which is to some extent deleterious to the work. If I can read something and synonyms repeatedly attack my consciousness, it means (at least to my eyes) the words weren't poignant just yet.

An aficionado's appreciation goes out to you.
