I agree, I like writing short poems too. To try to say a lot with so little words is challenging but you pulled it off in this dark and heart-felt poem. Very powerful.

I think this poem shows a lot of promise. I really like the first two lines, the imagery that ties those two together. And I really love the fifth line. It's paced very well. My only criticism would be that in choosing not to rhyme (with the exception of the subtle rhyme in line 5), including the bold rhyme in line 3 sort of threw me off. But over all this is also very well-written. Keep up the good work.
