Truely is a good work. I liked the way you described what Americans are, and your descriptions hit home. Great work.

Although very patriotic, I didn't enjoy this as much as I would've liked to. I think it's because of the repetition of "we are" - not to fond of that in any poem. :P But I like your many descriptions of America. It reminds me of why I love this country so much...

You have put America i good light when other try to put it down. No matter how low you sink, you'll try to fight which is what I like about this poem. You took a good look at the GOOD things in America and wrote it down.

Bravo! So patriotic - you should send this to a magazine. American citizens will eat it up!

What is this crap.Geez.Why does being American mean we have to be so freaking proud and stuck-up we can't even see around our McDonalds swollen backsides. God.Peace-loving people. Yeah. Write that all over the Iraqi-civilian corpses whose War we are fighting to make them ... peace-loving. Like ourselves.Dignified. Loving our surroundings. That has to be the worst shit I have ever heard. Yes... there are some dignified Americans. Yes... there are some Environemental freaks out there who really like to hug trees and save mushrooms. But that is... less that 1% of the population. Look around you. We are a debauched and oversexed country. We have been brought up in a society CONTROLLED by the media and marketing. We see we want. Simple and clean. I can't even think straight and give you some kind of arguement when you spew this sort of garbage.

Ah, I don't read many patriotic poems, but this one was worth it. Content aside, this is a great example of a non-rhyming poem. So often it seems that people learn that they don't HAVE to rhyme in a poem, then just let words tumble over each other in one huge discordant pile. Very well written.
P.S. In response to your request in your profile, I found your work by penname-hopping. Meaning, I started on some random "Just In" work an hour or so ago, checked out a profile, then a favorite author's list, then some of those author's stories, then the reviews of those stories, then the reviewer's profiles...etc. I'm not sure how many degrees of separation there were. Suffice to say, I read a lot on this site.P.P.S. Sorry the P.S. is longer than the review itself. It was kind of a loaded question ^_^.

first off, i really like this poem. i just added you to my favorite authors list too! at first i was going to just read all of your stuff just to get on your list (i know, a little selfish) but then the more i read the more i like everything and want to keep reading. this poem was great, in message, form and everything! awesome job once again!

I hope you know that your name is on here. But your poem is great. Ture american pride.

Oh Patriotism. I myself am sort of a twisted opposite of patriotic, but as a poem I think it's great. You could put it on a website with sparkly stars and fireworks and pass it off as an ecard to hallmark or something. (not kidding either)

Yes, this poem is very true in many ways. We are definitely all these things and more. This is a great inspiration. -HgBookworm
