I'm all ready half way threw and I've noticed your detail in your story, and I'm must say I'm impressed. Though I must say it's a little bit to morbid for my taste, though there is nothing worng with that. I like the way you've made a Latin Connection with Paterfamilas. Alot of run owns though I' am a victim to it as well. Being a former Latin geek, I hope you will really research on Roman History. I can't stand it when some one tells the story wrong just to sugar code everything. I'm really catching on to the mood when you are describing this entire scene. Your are very pacific with your descriptions, though it's not bluntly put. I'm so glad(Not kissing up) but I so happy you Have Marcus's cognomen and everything. WELL DONE.

I like how we see all this through Daemon's eyes. He was punished for something that he was rightfully innocent... your words made me feel sorry for him and his fate. This is a good piece. :)

Wow. I can tell you that this is a powerful story. Just imagine if you stretched this into a long story! The ending was absolutely beautiful. Sad, a bit gruesome, but beautiful. It's a shame that we do not get to know the slave better. Not even a name, but I guess it's better that way. It makes his story all the more tragic.
