An update!

I've recently been going back to reading some sci-fi stories and I kept on thinking about this one. It somehow echoes the likes of Bradbury and Asimov (yeah, I don't really have a broad range, just the ones I read in high school :D) in not only the subject, but also pacing (so that's what you call it!) and the little twists you do in the end. This, I think, is the kind of story that would warrant some sort of discussion if ever chosen as a subject because of the symbolism and vagueness and of course, the sci-fi touch.

Much of the things I like, if I didn't say it before, is that you write the angle from the "average person," and I guess that's what makes it believable.

Hm well I guess my only complaint is that I don't know enough. But I think that's part of the charm. I really suck bad on being a critic, so flooding you with compliments is all I can do :D

Okay, I'm done gushing now.

I love the way you write - I thought it was simple yet effective (and it made me care for the characters in a short amount of writing). I also like the melancholic voice the narrator has when telling his story, I thought it made the story credible and breathed life into it.

I'm really curious as to what the Population Control is, how the government is involved, etc., basically how their world works because you've piqued my interest :D I really hope you'll continue with this sweet piece!

P.S. Funny, I'm doing research on fast food meat. Not exactly the most appetizing after you know what's inside ;)
