I like this a lot. It made me laugh out loud twice, and I usually don't do that. Most of the time, things will amuse me, but I won't giggle at them. That's awesome. Plus five points. :D
And I would never be able to lay calmly and stare at this eyeball in the ceiling. You've gotta admire Sparky for that.
Anyway, great job! I will definitely keep reading this. Update soon!

This is fantastic!
For one you have a very definite style and I appreciate the fact that you don't rely heavily on dialogue to convey setting, characters or emotions. It's a nice change to some other stories I've read.
I also really like Sparky, he's a very down-to-earth character. I like the way you don't make him completely unique, but you give him those oddities that set him apart from the norm.
You also have a certain sense of realism to your story, what with the apartment and working at the video store. It's a nice touch. I almost tried my hand at the supernatural meets the city story, but it sounded terrible, yours, however, is fantastic. I love the fact that you start small and are progressively working towards a bigger picture.
Please update soon, I can't wait to here what the dog's real history is (he's a werewolf right?) and what other strange creatures Sparky is going to encounter!
