vegetative state = THOUGHTLESS
In other words, your poem needs to be revamped and/or deleted by the Ministry of Truth for it's pure inaccuracy.
Secondly, what was the poitn of keeping heralive in that state? There was nothign to be gained in any way from her state other than the right-wingers like you keeping your mouths shut. Being brain-dead is exactly ass its name suggests: DEAD in the BRAIN. Also remember that it's still debatable if we even have souls and if there even is a God. Once again, I'm gonna call Winston Smith in the Ministry of Truth to have them look over this...

I. Agree. (Schiavo case, I'm assuming) Even though I believe she couldn't actually be thinking, there is no way they should have starved her to death!

I just finished reading your poem and though I do like how it was written and the emotions it triggerd I found it to be completely inaccurate. I’m first off assuming that this is about Terri Schiavo’s feeding tube being removed. When I read the poems title that was what I thought you were talking about, then I read the first few words and figured it couldn’t be about Terri Schiavo because she was not aware, so I thought I was missing something. By the time I finished the poem I was once again sure you were talking about Terri Schiavo’s case so then I thought I must be missing something. I was under the impression that she was in a vegetative state and wasn’t aware of her self, much less the world around her, so I went and looked it up to make sure I wasn’t a complete idiot, low and behold what I found. The vegetative sate is a clinical condition of a complete unawareness of the self and the environment accompanied by sleep-wake cycles with either complete or partial preservation or hypothalamic and brainstem automatic functions. (that’s the definitional the websites I visited gave me ) So by then I was terribly confused, you portrayed her as someone that was feeling all this, when she really wasn’t feeling anything. Taking away her feeding tube was a merciful way to let her go. No one murdered her as your title claimed, they simply let her go, and if they believe like you do that there is a god then they allowed her to go to a better place. I’m not trying to be mean, I really liked your poem but as I said it was horribly unrealistic and based on what any conscious person would be feeling if they suddenly weren’t able to eat, not a women that was in a persistent vegetative state with no chance of recovery.
