A very interesting concept and ending. Insightful as well. But I thought the story to be a bit too wordy, perhaps it's the paragraphing? And the example of teenage girl was really stereotypical actually. And I got really hungry when you mentioned the baguette.
Otherwise, the message was played out wonderfully, and there's a light-heartedness to the story though losing some of it as the supposed truth of mankind dawns on the narrator. Great work!
P.S Do you hail from the land nicknamed the little red dot?
