Very nice opening for a story, i like the mystery behind this woman, where is she from, what happened to her family. Is she a freelancer or does she work for a major government agency.
And the story with the man, why is he so important to kill?
the imagery in this story is fantastic, makes it feel like im in the story.
Maybe a little Dialoge between the man and the woman before he died would have been more interesting, but i see where u were going with the dramatic ending of his life, the golden mask being the last thing he will see. Im guessing this will come up more often in the book.
