wonderful oxymorons! and I love the slant on private schools (I've never gone to one, but I'm doing research on them for a story and everyone I know that's ever been to one hated them. Almost as much as they hate the public education system...)You also use beautifuly dark imagery, and I found the ending amusing in a rather pessimistic way...could be just me, though. One thing, though: the Middle East does not focus of the achievement of 'nothingness', but most Far Eastern traditions do. Think Buddhism, Hinduism, and Taoism, which are mostly found in India, China, Korea, Japan. I'll shut up and go away before this becomes a history lesson.
