I know how you feel.
I must say, my sister is not as bad as your sister...thankfully my parents began to see the road they were heading down before they drove off the cliff.
My sister and I are nearly eight years apart...And I often get the 'she's younger than you, she doesn't understand'...She's also my dad's favourite, even my grandmother noticed (my mom made sure she gave her a talking to about that later on though...see, my mother prefers to sweep the dust bunnies under the rug and pretend they don't exist). I've been told time and time again that I'm jealous of my sister, which I am not- I have nothing to be jealous of (not even our father's affection). Now however, my mom is beginning to see the fruit of her labours- my sister recently picked up a habit of mouthing off to us whenever her friends are around.
I remember one time, she practically called me stupid in front of her friends because I asked her where she would be while I was vacuuming, to which I replied "well, I know you're afraid of the vacuum sweety" (which is, sadly, true)...and then she went on to make up stories to her friends, humiliating me (these stories were untrue). I told my mother, and she did the normal "well, she's younger than you"...thirty minutes later, I saw my mom fuming, i asked what was wrong- it turned out that my little sister hit my mother, and when my mom asked why she had done that (mind you, at that age, I would have been knocked upside my head for that), she turned to her friends and said "See, my mom is mean, thats why I like my Dad more"
Sorry, I know I rambled a bit. Anyways...I can really say I know how you feel...

I found this interesting and a little comical! I am the eldest, and my brother is three years younger. But he gets shouted at more, as I don't get caught=D Its always difficult when there is a big age gap, like seven years in your case. You are almost old enough though to be completely independant. There will come a time when you can say to your parents "I told you so". Nobody is perfect I suppose. I do think it's silly you need no other requirements to have a child other than the basic two! I especially liked the 'drying of clay' idea - fits really well.
