there's a lot of paradox and juxtaposition in this. I love paradox! I like the ending, sounds like it was inspired by the Phantom of the Opera (great music!)... again I'm not really the sentimental type, I do not write love poems and the love stories I write aren't sentimental and romantic as much as raw and overshadowed by more hard and concrete themes... (such as war, werewolves, etc, etc...) but I can tell you are the sentimental romantic type (at least in poetry) and so if that works for you, great.. part of this seems to be telling the object of persona's affections (hate saying 'your affections' cuz who knows if it's you, right?) to y'know be themself... then the next stanza the persona will be saying 'how do I have to change to make you love me'.. so is it a two - part song or something? I like that concept .. real cool ...
