i seriously read your entire story in 3 days. It's amazing. I love Shasta and Rhian. I love Dawn. I love Toulouse. I hope all the kidnapped kids live :/ I am still mad at dimitri. Poor Chad! Sad life for him. Jazz is interesting...I need more of him. I am guessing Karen's power is through cooking? That is pretty sweet how you set it up! I am glad the not witches are going to get a chance to kick some ass too. I mean Dawn has muscles...he can probably beat the crap out of someone. And toulouse is ninja! Recipe for disaster right there. Please update son

Since it's been a long time since I've last read this- probably last update, really- I had to reread it. Now that I'm refreshed, a couple thoughts have been circling in my head. Nana's triplet brother: what's-his-face with the name that starts with a G. Perhaps it's cliche, or maybe just a stone skip too far, but I have the feeling G-man, when he disappeared, made off with a woman who spawned one of Dawn's parents, and through said parent (whoever it is), that's how Dawn and/or Karen got their witchy powers.
Possibility is, Dawn could've done the spell himself, but at the same time, so could've Karen. But because of certain circumstances throughout the story that lead to both options, there's the possibility they are BOTH witches, even if only half. Or maybe whole, since the other side of the gene pool is left up in the air currently. (Actually, both sides are, considering I'm just guessing here.)
Also- Whiskey Girl. Her being a familiar isn't too big of a stretch. Her being Karen's is also likely. But if so, then what of Dawn? If we (I, rather) continue on this train of thought that he, too, is a witch, then it's rather curious he didn't have an animal with him, even late of age. Biko, I don't think, quite counts as Dawn's familiar- at least, not the cat Biko- since he was Diti's first. However, the possibility of him being Dawn's in pup form is likely. But is that really possible? Would a familiar, even (especially) one harboring the same tainted soul, really so easily become another person's? Not to mention he was pulled out by Tony, not Dawn.
And suppose Biko isn't even Dawn's! That leaves for a whole new rope of ideas, ey?
If you're going to revamp this story, I'm curious to know what parts you're going to cut out/minimize/shrink/change/whatever. Considering with what you have currently, you already spring a bucket load of questions (from those who care to ponder and relate to you), it's likely the revamp will change perspectives somewhat. For better, for worse, I don't know, but it'll certainly change.
...Anyway, thanks for the update. I was a bit concerned when it took a while. But, now I'm cool beans because you've returned. (I certainly do know that it takes a while to dish something out. I'm notorious for not getting anything posted for months on end. Gah, real life has me by the ankle. T_T Poopey.) Hurrah!

Forgive me Author, for I have sinned. I killed a dragon this afternoon on Zelda... or tried, anyway. I'm actually still in the process. I guess it's a bit early to ask forgiveness, then?
Speaking of sins, though... I hate to break it to you, but Vanity isn't one of the Seven Deadly Sins. They are Pride, Wrath, Envy, Sloth, Greed, Gluttony, and Lust. The way I learned to remember it is PIESAGL: Pride, Ire (same as wrath), Envy, Sloth, Avarice (same as Greed), Gluttony, Lust. Added bonus: they are in order from worst to least worst (?) in that acronym.
And you don't have to feel unworthy. All the things you named are the lot in life of a first draft. We wouldn't have final drafts without first drafts. The important thing is that you're still writing it. My advice is to write the whole thing before doing any major overhaul on the already written portion. I find that whenever authors decide that they need to do major edits before continuing, they just don't continue. Also, it can be hard to pick up where you left off when you are ready to start writing new parts again. Also, once you have the whole thing written, you don't have to worry about that and you can leave it for awhile, clear your head, and then look at the work as a whole. In my opinion, it's really difficult to tell what's working and what's not if you look at only individual parts and not the work as a whole, and it's really difficult to look at the work as a whole if it's not a whole draft yet. That's me and my experience, though, different techniques might work for you. Just thought it might help.

Wow! Wow is all I have to say, I just read all 33 chapters. This story is awesome! This story is very well written. The characters are very intresting and the whole story is awesome! I know I said that already but this story is cool. Can't wait for an update.
