This was very nice reading. I kept thinking, "With this set up, you really could do some fun things." You win points for having a good premise, and following through on keeping it interesting. Certain parts felt a bit rushed, and your section breaks are a bit distracting. There were one or two typos that caught my eye. This is the sort of thing that could almost be made into a television serial, and not be a bad one at that. Well done.

Fantastic. So Gabe was marked off as Hell, eh? Prolly a good thing he agreed to let Elizabeth go. If he took the Podium, he'd probably set a few folks straight REAL quick.

Wow. I love this story! It's so accepting (of people's beliefs)and thought provoking. I'm also glad people don't stay in Hell for eternity. I've always had a problem with that...Oh and Gabriel was really cool :)

This was very substantial leisure reading, though it does, as you admitted, need some polishing. Perhaps there could be some closure in the story - I am not requesting for an exposure of The Gatekeeper's so-called end, as that would ruin the intended effect, and is unneccessary and redundant. I would prefer if there could be subtle hints, or typology, of Gabriel's resemblance towards an angelic being. But that is just my own way of resolving the story. It was beautifully thought-provoking, and I understood your viewpoints perfectly. I disagreed with it somewhat, but since everything has pros and cons, understanding your piece just meant that I discovered the pros and cons in it. The pros far outweigh the cons. Also, I agree with the other reviewers in the inconsistency of Gabriel's character. Is he in or is he out? ;)
To me, this has been about Elizabeth's own After, and in a sense, her experience as The Gatekeeper was her own Heaven, and the ending was part of the process of Heaven. Besides, what is reality anyway? After her passing through the Blinding, she could just have ended up on the Other Side continuing as The Gatekeeper again, her previous role or memories all but a dream.
This is definitely material for my favourites list, however. Please reply to this if you ever find the need to. Or if you understand :)

hm...this was very interesting, and it really did make me think while reading it.
I really liked the way you wrote this like it was almost a religious piece, except you explored all angles of religion and didn't try to impose one belief on the reader, but more got them to think about all beliefs and the good and bad aspects of them.
It was very well written and I loved the style and the way you would jump from person and person, making it gradual, yet fast. It gave the implication of timeless.
Very good overall, and I will look over some of your other stuff. Keep writing because you are very talentedluv psychotically obsessed

i loved it. for a while, i thought i was reading fact. and i half-wished it was true. sometimes it's frustrating not to have answers to the questions that really matter, but i guess it can't be helped. :)

I absolutely loved this piece of writing. The ended somewhat threw me off a bit, like it was kinda abrupt or unfinished, but overall, I think it was nicely developed. It reflected alot of my own thoughts and it also proved to be an interesting read. Thanks for the great work!
