I like it. Though honestly I would much rather die quickly. Like a burst of flame, then fade away.At least then I would know what it is like to be so close to death, and then fall.

I like this a lot. The theme is conveyed in a very straight-forward manner that really keeps the reader interested into where it will lead. The imagery is great... I especially like the line "and finally, to find peace in the darkness as it creeps." Very well done.

This is a subject I've thought a lot about a lot, and I came to the same conclusion you seem to have reached.
Very thoughtful poem, dealing unflinchingly with a subject that is morbid by definition. It doesn't hesitate, just reaches straight to the heartstrings and wrenches them hard enough to activate the mind, the 'what if' processes. That's further than a lot of pretty little poems go. Good job.

Well, I love the theme of this poem...kill me slowly so I have time to say goodbye...it's so sad and heartwrenching, especially how they eventually accept their fate..."To find peace in the darkness"...and I love the lines "Just once will be enough; it will have to be enough." They almost make me cry. Beautifully written!
