Fabulous rhyming. The only awkward part was "Why to me, had this occurred". (By the way, occurred is spelled with two r's.) But I see that it's difficult to express it in any other order without breaking the rhyme. That's okay.
I also like how you use names in your writing. It helps the reader connect with the narrator and characters.
