I really enjoyed this piece. For some reason the line “and the vultures are waiting-” really struck me as being outstanding. I think this is because of the casual way you said it, the way you just threw the thought out there as if it implied nothing when it really implies so much… And the last line is striking as well. Keep up the good work!
