nice touch including James in this point of the story...
other than the cliche' hero and basic 'did' (damsel in distress), there's also the hero's voice of reason or mentor, in the form of James.

At the start, Sean was a lil' bit standoffish and all that (not much of a solid chapter) but in this chapter you've shown a more REAL version of him.
Meanwhile I like Chealsey and Reenie, they seam to be more complex characters.
