This is officially the first poem I've read here! I'm new to FictionPress (though I have an account at FanFiction, so this process isn't new at all).

I have to say that this poem is really, really good. I myself am a writer and poet- not that I'm great or anything- and poetry is a fairly new thing for me. I only write when I feel inspired or something has happened that lifts me up to the clouds and carries my soul through to the heavens... :) The fact that you wrote this at one in the morning makes me feel less like a loner! Sometimes I'll be up at my computer and typing something up at two or three in the morning, and I won't stop 'til I've got it all out 'cause I know I'll probably forget it by the time I wake up after sleeping for a few hours. I'm sad to hear that you're friend is sick- a best friend, at that. I have a few very good friends that I hold dear to me, and I know that if I learned that one of them had suddenly gotten some life-threatening illness, I would be devastated- and I'd start to write. It gets all my feelings out on paper so I can look back on that moment and know what I was going through or what I believed someone else was going through at that time. You and your friend have my prayers! And again, that poem was amazing. Truly inspiring. A brilliant piece of work for the very first I've read here at FP.

Keep writing and putting your heart and soul into it!

Wow, it's nice and well-written, especially if the theme of the poem is touching. That's nice. Don't worry, my best friend and I are also going through the same phase.

Like it? I loved it. I almost started crying reading this. I'm so sorry. I know what it's like to have a friend that means so much to you and then you find out that they're sick and there's a possibility that you might...lose them. I'll pray for your friend, and I hope for the best for both of you. I'm so...so sorry. On a happier note, this was amazing, especially for one o'clock in the morning. I wish I wrote that well that late at night! Beautiful, beautiful job and tons of hugs...

now this doesn't have the classic poetry format, but it still gets the message across to the reader. it tells a story about your friendship, and that is why i like this poem. it is raw a true, even though it doesn't rhythm or anything. good work and i hope that you friend gets better, and with that i hope that you stay strong through this. Sad... :( I'm sorry to hear about your friend...

Hmm.

I liked

"I tried to be there for you

And though we drifted apart

We still were best friends"

those lines... Because they're very easy to relate to...

Sorry again and I hope that everything turns out well...
