Gosh, i hope Seaton wasn't being nasty to Jayden on purpose and for his own benifit. I got a little teary - eyed when Jayden gave his conscience a telling off for hoping - that's so sad, not allowing himself to hope because he keeps getting knocked down!

*duly whacking Seaton over the head with his own plushy* Ya numpty! Even though it was expected, ya NUMPTY! Ach... *sigh* I know it's gotta happen like this, as it would be unrealistic if they jumped straightaway into each others arms, but damn... stubborn bastard is a euphemism for Seaton, I hope you know that.
Jayden says 'no' a lot this chapter. I like that. And at the end, where he says "Yes, sir" (hope that attempt at html italics worked) to Seaton when he tells him to go to Mr Spencer's house, well... I got a bit of a sting off it (as in the way Jayden says it), but that could just be me - I liked it because Jayden's expressing what he feels there. At least, that's the way I'm gonna take it, anyway.
Ah.. that three-liner... "Freedom? Ha. I never considered freedom a possibility." smacked of bitterness... very nice, I have to say.
The whole thing with Mr Spencer is... a little weird. You'd think a teacher would just ring up if a student was absent, not decide to go down and see where he is. And it's not as if Jayden hasn't skipped before. But then again, he is more concerned about Jayden after he had to bail him out of jail and all... *verbally expressing her conflicting thoughts* Ah, I'll just go with it... makes it easier. And it does make sense, anyway. *shaking head* Just ignore that.
Oh, update on ze crazy aspects of Britain and N.I... it's STILL raining - it's playing havoc with Wimbledon at the minute. And still flooding the countryside. From what I hear, apparently in England, they've got loss adjustors to fly in from America who dealt with the aftermath of hurricane KATRINA... maybe it's just me, but that seems like slight overkill. But hey, it takes all types. *shrug*
Happy belated birthday, by the way. That reminds me - have to get a friend's b/day present (her b/day was in MAY, mind you - this is how broke I am at present). Random question: is the correct spelling for a child abuser 'paedophile', or 'pedophile'? Or am I thinking this because 'paedophile' is the British spelling of it? I've noticed that when American people say it, they leave the 'a' out in their pronunciation, so the beginning of the word sounds like the 'ped' from 'pedal' of a bicycle. A certain quote springs to mind - "America and Britain, two countries separated by a common language."
Anyway... randomness over. I'm looking forward to the next chapter, 'specially how Jayden reacts to this when he actually has a moment to THINK about it all. That'll be interesting. See ya soon!

That`s to say: I love this story. It`s probably the best I read on fictionpress yet and Jayden is my personal favourite main character. I mean, there are probably 3 or 4 others that I like just as much, but for someone who read hundreds of books - you could say he has a special status. ^_^
I think it`s good that you let Seaton take the kiss back. (pff - as if he`d really want that.) but he`s an ex-cop, so he`s supposed to have "morals" and knows the law (including the sentences of they get caught)
Anyway: i can`t wait for the next chapter. I wonder how they`ll try to get charlie to "confess"... I got the feeling it`s going to end up with Jayden being hurt again. (on the other hand side that would also give Seaton a reason to comfort him again.)
Oddly touching was the part where Seaton let`s Jayden say "I`m not disgusting" over and over again and Jaydens thoughts about it...
Anyway: thjis already letter-size again, so I`ll stop now (and yup, rambling s like a hobby of mine or something ^_^

By the way, this story is amazing and about as close to perfect as an abuse story in fictionpress gets. Seriously, Jayden's not cutting himself and isn't heavily into crying and drugs. A step above the rest.
