That poor woman! I understand that this is a prologue, but I do feel the tiniest bit rushed somehow. I don't know why, but it's somewhere in there. But at the same time, that can be the perfect effect because now, it forces the reader to naturally want to find out more about Davin and Chun, what relationship Davin and Chun have (the idea before Davin's act of disgrace that Chun doesn't like him is set), and just exactly what Chun will do. Exciting! I enjoyed the the woman's "puppy dog eyes round with hurt and shock pulled at his natural instinct to mother." I like that line for some odd reason. I cannot wait for the next chapter!
