Holy Crap. I made it through this though. This has a very in the now feel. You're right there the whole time for the right. It sas disturbingly descriptive (but that's a good thing for this purpose)

A confusion I have in the second sentence:

"...as the pitiful humans lay asleep in their beds, and as for some unfortunate few, on the cold cobble stone floor, those those humans, would be the ones to be spared of joining the feast."

Because of the way the rest of the sentence goes, the and as portion flows oddly and didn't make sense to me. It seemed this would flow better if it was: ... the pitiful humans lay asleep in their beds, except for an unfortunate few on the cold cobble stone floor who would be among those spared of joing the feast... something like that.

I liked how the rich were the eaten and the bedless poor lived to see another day.
