I liked the prologue. The story seems promising. =)
I don't know if it's realistic that the boy already decides right then to make his mother proud of him, because in a situation like that people usually have a hard time grasping what has happened. But, that's just my opinion.
Anyways... Interested in seeing how the story will continue. =)
