This was powerful in its simplicity. I was endeared to them in the very first scene.
As they got older, it actually hurt me because it doesn't always have to be this way, but you're right, it so often is.
Things that shouldn't often become a thing of race. And there's no need for it.

i liked it a lot. for some reason it remided me of this movie called America History X, but then i thought some more and your story is way diffrent.

Good work. Says a lot with not that many words. I'd like to think that racism is less rampant today than it once was, but your piece serves as a reminder that, sadly, people still put up arbitrary divisions such as skin colour.
Just one thing: You mention that each of the men was in a gang and that then there was a gang fight where the leaders talked to one another and shot each other. Were the main characters the leaders of the gangs, or were these different invividuals? It seemed to me that you intended the first interpretation, but I wasn't quite sure...

it's sad how places are like that. Ed was telling me about Guam and I wasl ike, "I don't remember it being like that.." but then again, everyone grows upand it happens. :(
