great story. you gave each character so much life in such a short amount of time. I liked how you left things unresovled. nice touch.

Wow. That's sort of a sad ending, leaving the conflict unresolved, but it fits the nature of the story as a whole. It's all about confusion and feeling torn between two situations. You established and developed three characters here with limited space, and it's amazing how much depth you gave them in one short story. Very well-written also; the images are strong and the dialogue flows easily. It leaves me feeling almost incomplete, as unresolved as the story, but I don't think there's any other way that it could be different. Rather than a story with a defined beginning and a complete resolution, this is more like a window, a cutout image or piece of someone's life that the reader has the chance to view and comprehend. That's what I got out of it, anyway. :)
