I like this.. the ending is very sweet and not really expected by the title or the beginning.. I like how you go from seemingly bad to good..
A few things..
The storms my friend... did you mean the storm's my friend?
Alone, and distant, Once again... the Once being capital looked weird to me since it wasnt a new sentence...
Other than that it was a great piece... really well done...

sweet, peaceful indeed
so excited to review your works finally!
"emptiness from the past" is interesting and "gentle breeze" is one of my favorite expressions I myself have used in the past (ha so I guess the past isn't really empty after all!)
