This is right up my alley! I'm hoping when they begin to collect things it'll work together as a kind of cultural/historical pastiche! There are so many interesting things you can do with this premise, and I want to see how this turns out! You're already doing a fantastic job! The characters are so realistic, and already well-developed. Furthermore, the reactions, and the things that are going on are very extraordinary, dappled with the ordinary. It's a nice balance - it invites readers into a new world, but it does not bombard/overwhelm them.
I can't really see anything in here to critique! Well done!
