for Nocte Yin: A Hero Wannabe?8/12/2008 c29 I.F
AH! Kept on putting off reviewing ever since you updated and I almost did it tonight as well, NEVER AGAIN! I am writing this review!_ and now onto my review...
THANK YOU for updating! This is such a good chapter, depressing but good^^. I was trying not to cry as I read his death scene. Considering the prophecy I was kinda expecting more of a mass slaughter of the Yins but I guess killing some of the top elders was enough or there will be more to come. Cool eye change, though I wonder what her reaction will be when she looks in the mirror (not a good idea to have a reminder of your recently dead father when your in an unstable state (he had white/pale eyes - I see a connection and I wanna write about it!XP)); either she'll think it's cool and like it (unlikely), take it in stride (when she's in Yin-mode not a lot fazes her), or she'll get depressed (natural reaction to a sudden change in features that you didn't want(and that they remind you of your dead father)). Was the white eyes because she finally used her death glare or because she absorbed her father's death energy? I'm voting for the unfazed reaction though she normally bounces back to her normal self soon enough. I don't want to think about that not happening. With Umbra's death, it might take her a longer time, Nocte definatly needs time alone with her remaining family (and friends if she wants them) to mourn. Poor Farhatp, I hope they can get back together. People can say hurtful things that they don't mean when their very emotional and I hope he knows that. He couldn't help the rules, and (though I don't like admitting it) Nocte has to learn that some people must die when it is their time (not a good idea to try and resurrect every dead person you know). This chapter was also very funny (if you ignore Umbra's death), I love the Unofficial Pyralis Markku Fan Club, and if it ever became offical Pyralis would probably throw acid on all the members:D Is Paine a canidate for future boyfriend (she already did the forbidden hero, Paine is the forbidden villian)or does she just want his friendship? So far I'm voting for friendship since it doesn't look like Nocte will have a relationship for awhile until things settle down and she hasn't mentioned being interested in him like that. ^^ I can't wait for the next chapter to be put up, GOOD LUCK WITH IT!
P.S. funny thing, I tried to find other stories to cheer me up after reading this and all I found were ones where the character died or that the story hadn't been updates for year/s ;_; so sad

NOCTE USED THE DEATH GLARE! OMG ! ... A very wow chapter. I can't believe you killed Umbra... but more so, I very much want to see where you will go from here... and whether Pain and Noir will relent and be friends/get it awn with Nocte!

Poor Nocte :( Umbra was such a good father, and honestly if that happened to me, I think I would go crazy too. This chapter was really exciting to read. I hope you write more soon!

I wept like a baby when I read this. Even as I write this my eye begin to sting. I don't think a death of a minor character, since we didn't really see him that much, was ever so well covered to bring reader to tears. I think the repetition made it all the more dramatic. The one thing I'm worried about is that Nocte doesn't seem to have a limit to what she can do, she's growing too powerful. Although I guess if my dad died I would have blown a nucke like that too. I wonder what's up with her eyes, have they become like Umbra's or different? And I feel really bad for Farhat, does that mean we won't see him anymore, now that the debt is repaid? And Paine, why is he always there... I wonder what he's planning. I bet he likes Nocte.

Hm, it seems kinda pointless to have summoned the Leviathan, if she just looked at him and killed him a few seconds later.
I'm sad about Umbra. I liked him. But I like the idea of Nocte's eyes being white.

Can I cry now? That was so painful watching Umbra die and Nocte's desperation, but Farhat tried to warn her. This is a new page for Nocte, a new beginning it seems...
I can't believe Umbra is dead and her family and... Poor, poor Nocte. And her eyes are white.
Please, update as soon as possible to follow up this wonderful yet terrible chapter.

Wow, that was... a very action-packed/emotional chapter. I think you pulled it off pretty well - My one crit is that I thought it was a little overdone when you repeated "Her father was bleeding. Everywhere." three times. Other than that though, it was awesome.
I feel kind of sorry for Farhat - I mean, it's not like he really had a choice. Then again, I'd be angry if I was in Nocte's position, too.
Should I know who Garret and Ayers Opal are? If so, I'm sorry. I have memory issues :-P
And I liked the part with Paine... I still have the feeling... well. You continue to surprise me, so I'll just watch and see what happens.
And haha it's kind of funny that the publish date on this is 07-07-07, and the update date is 08-08-08. Just had to throw that out there.

that seemed a pretty sudden end to the chapter, but that's the only qualm I've got. I love it. A lot. As usual.
Like ... Everything. the way Nocte reacted to her father's death, to me, was so realistic and I didn't get hung up on that at all. And the others' reactions were amazing, too, if not described as much.
Okay, what I'm trying to say - I could invision mostly anything. There.

Finally breaking point. Her poor father those other Yins deserve to get it as long as Nocte doesn't lose what makes her NOCTE! So much has happened in this Nocte story I can't believe it's still the third! Big emotional chapter :'( You can't leave us hanging here for long!

Well. I just spent discovered this series 2 days ago & have been reading nonstop. All I have to say is... I absolutely adore the Nocte Yin saga! Granted, there are quite a few spelling/grammar errors; perhaps you should look into getting a beta reader? But other than that, the ideas are amazing, the plot is amazing, the characters are amazing, the entire story is amazing!
Couple random things: My favorite character is definitely Farhat, hands down. I can't explain what it is about him, but you seem to inject humor and lovable-ness and life into Farhat, as well as into the whole story. I'm hooked! Also, my favorite chapter was the letter chapter in the first NY volume; it was quirky & humorous & not boring at all, as is sometimes the case.
Anyway, keep writing, you have a gift ; you successfully managed to keep me entertained these past two days. I'm a fan!
