for plain black coffee

"still:sometimes,in a flash of backwards thought,

I disregard all things I’ve learned from you.

I hesitate to love,and once I bought

some plain black coffee, just to paint me blue."

I hope I'm not bothering you with my incessant reviews. *sheepish grin*

I have to ask to see if I can make a bit of an allusion here...have you ever read anything by Terry Pratchett?

I love this. It's so sincerely sweet and progresses so well. I like how it isn't one smooth gradient from switching from bitterness to love, but it shows the hesitation and how, like you said, it's hard to leave the past behind. The ending is just perfect.

oh lawd. i love this, and even more props to you because it's a rhyming poem, and there are very few rhyming poems on this site that are any good.

one thing- with commas, colors, and semi-colons, there should be a single space after them, and with periods, there should be a double space. it's just to make things easier to read, i believe.

i'm not a fan of coffee myself, but you made me want to try it again for the first time since i was seven.

I liked this. Made me think of sweet sorrow. And the coffee was pretty good, in the end. XD

This is so very splendid a writing.

It speaks of a journey of change and maturity.

Sometimes it is that I have found that plain black coffee refreshes in its own unique way. smile

Keep on a writing!
