I love how you repeated the "ten years" lines for emphasis. It sounds really great, and shows that she's serious about leaving the relationship now.
Plus, the concept of an almost lover is intriguing; they were together for ten years, but she could never consider it official... because he was on drugs the whole time, and she never really knew who he actually was? Just a guess.
"Me or the drugs" is also a really intense line. I don't feel bad for him at all, when it's put that way; he really did make his choice, and I guess it's up to him now, to see if he thinks it was the right one.

Short and simple, but it said a lot and was really powerful. I enjoyed reading it. I could really relate to it, since my last relationship ended because he continued to choose drugs and I'm not big into the whole drug scene.
