Sorry, I'm just intensely drawn-in when I read this.
Excellent chapter! This was better than I expected...and I have very high expectations of this story! I love how I have to think to keep up with it, instead of it being a mindless love story. This is complicated, heated, seductive...dark.

Wow. The wait for this chapter was worth it. I was leaning so close to the screen just to absorb it all. Wow. So, was James fed to the sharks? Why didn't we get to see any of that action? I can wait for the next chapter, but it's going to be hard. Especially with the way you ended this chapter. So many questions, so little time. Hehe.

Great chapter. Loved it! sent shivers down my spine, GM is so..sinister...he is insane! He always was! the only thing I could suggest changing would be that you have some things in () and I wasn't sure if those were thoughts to be hones they look like they were your personal notes that you thought you would have to ilaberate on what was in them. Still good chapter!

This chapter was good! Lots of things happening. It's like, I'm a ghost in the house watching everything... creepy. I really like how Val reacted at the end chapter. This precise fire is what GM saw in her and what made her even more appealing to him, I'm sure.

I don't know, I wish you wrote Val from first POV, but I'm glad you didn't as well. I've always liked first POV because then I get to know the main character better, and I don't feel like I know Val very well. But however, first POV tends to cut you off from the other characters, leaving the reader only with the views of the mc. So, I guess your preference is more suited.
Hum...all I could think about when the teacher pulled him back was 'soon, but not now'. As the reason for why he didn't fight the teacher.
Nice build of suspense and intrigue. I love the little chess definitions in the beginning.
