This is definitely better than the first version. I'm glad you decided to change it. The bet thing was just like a redo of redux. lol. And it would have been the same story.
Anyway, I love the photography angle. I took a couple of photography courses in college and the "dark" room isn't really that dark with the orange or red lights, but taking the film out of the camera and putting it on the reel to be developed has to be done blindly in a pitch black room where you can't see your hands in front of your face. Seriously creepy. I even cut my hands on the edges of the film. I came out of the room and the professor freaked out when he saw blood all over my hands. I didn't even realize I had cut myself. I ended up getting the film done at a photo shop after that. But, yeah, using those archaic 35 mm cameras is hard compared to the advanced photo technology nowadays.
Back to the story, I love the interaction so far. Quentin really is a jerk, but I like Devon and her friends. It's cool seeing their perspective of Alex's "gang." I look forward to more. Update soon!

Have I mentioned I love you? In an entirely fangirly sort of way, of course. And that's not a word, but oh well. Keke. And fast update = squee. Times infinity, or so.
Quentin's so... male. And hormonal. But the two go hand in hand, so I guess that doesn't work. I love the whole Japanese-vendetta thing - I'm not Korean, but being Chinese, I got the same lecture once after I chose Japanese as an elective. Almost word for word, actually, though with 1945 instead of 1910. ^^ Well, oops. And Asian jokes are love. My school has an, um, majority of Asians. Say, 90% or so (and I live in Australia), and therefore the jokes are rampant.
Gahh, so OT. Anyways, chapter talk. *sigh* Guys are such... guys. Or dirty idiots. I don't know. Sam and Abdullah discussing, er, Adrian is a little... disturbing. And love:
'Abdullah didn't give up. "Hey, if Montgomery can date his stepsister..."
"They're white," Sam replied. "That says it all."'
But eh, Quentin is annoying me. Asshole says it all. Once again though, he's male, and being a jerk comes with the territory. *pokes Quentin to death* And I want to know why Mr. Ferreira was talking to Mr. Drury. Pay for a new camera... does that mean Devon's mother is going to find out? And if she does, well, Asian mothers... Devon's pretty much screwed. I'd hate Ferreira, but I do feel sorry for him, like with Mr. Melbourne. ^^ I like the fact your characters have flaws. Alex is an arrogant asshole, Quentin's a sex-obsessed asshole and Adrian can be a bitch. And Devon has a temper, but I can't blame her. I'd have probably slapped Quentin by the second line.
But on the subject of Devon's mother - Quentin's white. Devon's Korean. From my experiences, Asian mothers, um, don't always approve of white males. Especially blunt, supercilious, crude ones like Quentin.
I like Phillipa, too. She's opinionated and different, and I want Phillipa/Abdullah, like now.
Only thing is, I want nice!Alex. Well, nicer. But he's still jerk-off!Alex. Oh well. That would have been slightly overdone, anyways. At least he doesn't sleep around anymore. I could go on forever, but 11PM here, and I'm about to fall asleep. ^^

I like this new incarnation, and I have to say it's nice seeing another person's opinion of Adrian, being as I read the last story completely on her side - it's nice to see how the outsiders of the story read the situation. It doesn't sit comfortably with me how they think she's a slut, but I understand why because they don't know the whole story. And if they don't know the whole story, then it makes sense they'd have a skewed view of it. But I got to say, loving Mr F. Fantastic teacher - though not sure I'd like him to teach me.

Although you said Mr. Ferreira wouldn't be like Mr. Melbourne they seem to share similar qualities of not handling their students well. I don't understand why Mr. Ferreira is pushing the responsibility of 'taking care' of Quentin to Devon. And outside of his photography class too! I'm hooked, though. I'm really excited about what's to come!
