I enjoyed this, but I think that the last part where you describe Joel and Christopher takes something away from the rest of it. If you want to describe them, you might want have a third party observing them from a distance. Or even have the dead brother observing them so you really feel his presence in their lives.

this is the only dialogue-only ANYTHING i've ever enjoyed reading. like i would've been surprised if i'd even come CLOSE to enjoying it, but this just... surpassed any expectations i might have had if I'd known by the title/summary/etc. AMAZING. seriously dazzling fucking feats of imagination and talent and imagery and i LOVE it.
