October for me feels full of endings and emptiness and it is the month I was born in too. I can relate to the metaphors in this so much right now. Take care.

One of those poems that leave me breathless. I love the improbable metaphors ("greasy linoleum frays," "a bleak shard of marchpane"); your use of imagery manages to strike that delicate balance between lyricism and realistic grit. My only suggestion would be to remove the italics; the poem is quite capable of existing purely in and of itself and doesn't appear to require any external heightening. Adieu, Kat *favs*

I really like the two places where you use the idea of tea - first when you personify the teabag, saying it has a heart, and secondly when you said 'your eyes are tumbling cinnamon, steeped so the irises not-quite remain.'
