Oh man... I was not expecting that little twist. Everyone was so pretty and soft, and then. WHAM BAM. Super secret ending. Even though I didn't get my happy ending I was really impressed. Which is just a sign of your greatnss, if you can come up with stuff and can surprise me and surpass your other stuff.

How clever! This is a great depiction of just how ruthless pride can be. I found myself lulled into a sense of security by the pretty language and amazing imagery, but you shocked me out of it quite nicely. Excellent write.
